Have you ever spared a thought to the influence of elements in your 'marriage' and how they can influence your marriage - favourably or unfavourably?
The essence of human existence lies in the fact that each and every one of us must learn to overcome our human frailties and modify the negative patterns, that is, the base metal of the human ego into the gold of our real self. Certain great, universal forces that underlie the existence of all things also govern marriage.
Just like we undergo the alchemical marriage between our soul, the feminine aspect of our being, and the pure, real and enduring spiritual self to achieve an evolving higher consciousness, the masculine aspect, you can similarly experience your own alchemical marriage in married life.
One of the important defining acts of all human beings is to find a suitable marriage partner and to create an improved moral, spiritual and intellectual core to the marriage.
The energies within us exist within us in both physical and unmanifested, non-physical forms.
If we were to think of men and women in terms of the positive and negative charges of a magnet, it is quite believable that the two sexes can create energy just by being in proximity. Marriage implies taking this energy flow, this positive and negative energy exchange to a higher level. It is a powerful union which partakes of the non-local sharing of the life energy of both partners, making way for the acceptance and forging of a different future.
Marriage is more than spending a life together. It has a purpose. If the life energy of Yin and Yang is diverted or not properly shared then there can be no real marriage and it could distance you from the future that is calling to you.
Both of these energies are of equal importance, intensity and input. Without balance and harmony between these energies, nothing can exist or grow to perfection. Disharmony can trigger a state of chaos, bringing un-ease and ultimately disease to the body, confusion and unhappiness to mind/emotions, and destroy the 'connect' with the Spirit.
The human experience undergoes tumultuous crests and troughs of emotions in trying times. Just as the combined, volatile power of positive and negative in electricity must be earthed to be made safe, so must all the whirling activity of yang and yin within us. |
